谈到数字化转型,战略至关重要

Organizations globally need to modernize their business 和 operational processes. 一个健全的战略对于向完全数字化的企业转型至关重要.

早在2018年底,当我写了我的第一篇博客详细介绍 五个步骤 that businesses need to consider before embarking on a digital transformation (DT) journey, 我低估了这是个多么热门的话题. 现在, 经过广泛的研究, it has become increasingly apparent that DT is more than just a ‘buzzword’. Businesses around the globe are actively seeking ways to modernize their business 和 operational processes 和 have even employed individuals whose sole purpose it is to manage the organizations’ complete transformation. Some examples of this include the ‘Director of IT 和 数字转换”, “数字化转型主管”, 和“主要, 数字转换”, but ultimately all digital transformation initiatives are driven by the CIO (ALE, ‘The CIO’s role in an era of digital transformation: Swimming with the Digital Sharks’ whitepaper).

虽然我已经在之前的博客中详细阐述了前两个步骤, in this one we explore how once an organization has identified that it needs to embark on a DT (through 审计 和 基准测试), it then needs to develop an implementation strategy that identifies the areas, 部门, 或者首先需要“转换”的流程. 虽然这似乎是一个合乎逻辑的开始方式, it was only a few years ago that Forrester uncovered that a mere 27%  of organizations had any form of co在这里nt digital strategy in place. 换句话说, these organizations were making very important decisions 和 investments without an overarching game plan, which is concerning given how a co在这里nt strategy forms the basis on improving one’s customers’ experience, 提高员工效率,加快决策速度.

有明确的预算和预先分配的资源, well-thought-out strategies help guide staff with regard to how they manage during this important transition period. A strategy can provide a structure to progress through the many stages 和 programs required to reach the desired outcome.

As a first step toward creating a DT strategy (和 this is somewhat covered in my previous blogs on 审计 和 基准测试) a business should carry out an assessment on the digital ‘maturity’ of its organization. 一旦实现了这一点, the organization will be in a better position to identify the key areas 和 gaps w在这里 it is either lagging behind its competitors or losing money due to inefficient people, 流程或技术. 有了这些差距, the organization can then plan how to address them by involving all key stakeholders to take their objectives into account 和 set realistic goals.

In 2018 spending on legacy technology systems increased by 13%  over the previous five years. It’s clear that it is time for businesses to stop wasting resources on ‘keeping the lights on’, 和 start focusing on new initiatives that lead to smarter IT investments that can yield new revenue streams. Senior management needs to make a concerted effort to develop realistic strategies that detail the technological changes or process improvements the business needs to deliver profitable digital experiences. 此外, an organization’s ability to hire the best 和 most technologically adept employees will help facilitate the widespread adoption of these new technologies 和 it will better position the organization to compete effectively in the constantly changing economy.

最后, a detailed digital transformation strategy that’s focused on technological or process inefficiencies, 以及一支“敏捷”的支持性员工队伍, 适应和参与变革” , 能比技术本身更重要吗 . 和, having a committed partner like Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise help you plan that vital journey can ensure a successful transformation from a legacy-based to a fully-digitalized enterprise. 制定战略不再是一种选择,而是一种必要.
